I have bought several packs of blades and consistently about half of the blades are razor sharp and the other half is completely dull. They also cost more than stanely blades and I've had no issues with Stanley blades.

Used these exclusively for 2 years in a plastic slicing machine. Cuts 3/32 thick plastic pipe at about 3ft per second. Blades usually last a whole day of continuous cutting. Sometimes several days.

After using many other brands I ran across these blades and decided to give them a try. It is now the only blade we use at work and my house. we are mostly cutting cardboard and tapes, etc in our shipping operations, but we use our knives all day long, and these suckers just keep working. We change blades about once a week now rather than 3 times a day. We have to have clean sharp blades for cutting some of our materials, and we used to keep a "special" knife just for this purpose. We no longer keep a special knife for this job, our regular knifes do the job now.

I have had these blades before and didn't notice that they lasted any longer than an ordinary carbon steel blade. I used them mainly to strip electrical wire insulation. I just bought a new 20 pack of the same Irwin bi-metal blades and after having to use needle nose pliers to pull the first blade out I noticed that both ends of the blade seem to have burrs on them. I pulled the blade out using the center notches so I know the defect was already there. I haven't used it yet, we'll see if it even cuts cardboard.

Irwin
